Read this correctly
This is the register of ACTIVE corporations. A corporation listed here is on the active register. That is the only thing it means: it is not an endorsement, not a statement that the company is trading, solvent, licensed or reputable, and not a statement about the people behind it.
Dissolved and inactive corporations are not on this site. They are a separate dataset. A company that is absent from here is absent from the active register, which is not the same as never having existed.
28,833 corporations carry a status detail — most often a pending dissolution for non-compliance. That is recorded by the registrar, not an assessment by this site.
Addresses are city and province only. Many federally incorporated businesses are incorporated at a home address. The registered office is public in the source; publishing the street line at this scale would publish home addresses, so it is deliberately left out. The full registered address is in the official register, linked below.
An annual filing is an administrative filing, not a financial statement and not a sign of trading.
Corporations Canada publishes the whole active register as open data. What this site adds is a way to read it: the register as browsable counts, and a search that returns the corporation number, which is the thing you need in order to look the company up in the official register.
